v.Vollenhoven & co Bokbier
Van Vollenhoven Bokbier is brewed according to the late 19th century tradition as was used by the Van Vollenhoven’s Brouwerij ‘De Gekroonde Valk’. This bottom fermented bok is built on a broad malt base, with sweetness and bitternes kept in a perfect balance.
The unique Dutch tradition of a dark, heavy autumn ‘Bokbier’ arose after the middle of the 19th century, and was soon adopted by all brewers as a counterpart to the lighter pilsener beers that had great success in the market. The Van Vollenhoven Brewery, as a specialist in dark, heavy beers, also launched its own Bokbier and we continue this tradition every year.
