This Bokbier is brewed according to the late 19th century tradition as used by the Van Vollenhoven’s Brouwerij De Gekroonde Valk. This bottom fermented bok is built on a broad malt base, with sweetness and bitternes kept in a perfect balance.
The unique Dutch tradition of a dark, heavy autumn ‘Bokbier’ arose after the middle of the 19th century, and was soon adopted by all brewers as a counterpart to the lighter pilsener beers that had great success in the market. The Van Vollenhoven Brewery, as a specialist in dark, heavy beers, also launched its own Bokbier and we continue this tradition every year.
Traditioneel en stormachtig. Dit bokbier is opnieuw gebrouwen door Brouwerij Poesiat & Kater naar traditie van de beroemde v.Vollenhoven brouwerij in Amsterdam. Dit lekkerebokbier heeft tonen van caramel en geroosterde mout, met zoetheid en bitterheid goed in balans.
